In Murdered: Soul Suspect, you're Ronan O'Connor, a detective who's just been murdered in Salem, Massachusetts. As you navigate the afterlife, known as 'Dusk', your goal is to uncover the truth behind your own death and bring justice to those responsible. The game takes place in a world that blends modern-day Salem with supernatural elements, allowing you to explore the town from both the living and dead perspectives.

Gameplay involves investigating your murder by possessing people to read their minds, influencing their thoughts, or seeing and hearing what they know. You'll also walk-through walls, teleport, and discover new information by revealing memories hidden in the Dusk or interrogating the dead. As you progress, you'll uncover clues, piece together the truth about the killer, and use poltergeist skills to create distractions and learn further clues.
