Each round unfolds in three distinct steps: Move Step, Card Play Step, and Site Event Step. In the Move Step, players must consume a card corresponding to the number of steps they wish to move their piece. The Card Play Step allows them to spend a card with the same icon as the current site to reap benefits, while the Site Event Step brings surprises and challenges to the forefront.
