Immerse yourself in the dark, foreboding City as Garrett, the master thief. With no desire to get caught, you'll use your cunning and stealth skills to pilfer from the wealthy and powerful. The city is a place where magic and machinery coexist uneasily, and corruption is rampant. Your goal is to stay one step ahead of the law while building your reputation as a thief. This is achieved through cutthroat gameplay that rewards strategy over brute force. Gameplay revolves around Garrett's arsenal of thieves' tools, including lock picks, blackjack, arrows, wall climbing gloves, oil flasks, flash bombs, and dagger. You'll use these to break into buildings, mug nobles on the streets, spend your loot, and earn a reputation that attracts or repels certain characters. The AI guards are highly advanced, tracking evidence and suspiciousness while searching for intruders. They can even perform lip synching, facial expressions, and hundreds of lines of real-time dialog. What sets Thief: Deadly Shadows apart from other action games is its focus on stealth and strategy. While combat is an option, it's often more effective to use the shadows to evade detection rather than engaging in a firefight.
