Game Overview

In Cortex Command, you take on the role of a brain-protecting commander, tasked with defending your cerebral cortex from an enemy bent on destroying it. The story takes place in a richly detailed 2D pixel graphics world where fully destructible environments await. Your mission is to excavate gold, mine the terrain, and destroy the enemy's cortex in their bunker complex. A turn-based strategic campaign mode ties the real-time action together, featuring persistent terrains that accumulate battle scars, debris, and bunker ruins throughout your entire campaign. Choose from unique technology factions, each with its own set of expendable soldier bodies, mechas, weapons, tools, and landing craft.

Gameplay combines intense, real-time tactical battles with strategic metagame elements. You'll dig tunnels to surprise enemies, build bunkers to protect yourself, and deploy troops from the air or sea to take down foes. With in-game buying menus, you can outfit your commando units with new gear and equipment at any time, allowing for a high degree of customization and strategy. And when the going gets tough, you'll need to employ clever tactics to outmaneuver your enemies.
