Cybermere is set in 2033, where you take on the role of Lance, a novice hacker looking to make a name for themselves. The game takes place in a gritty, futuristic world where corporations have all the power, and it's up to you to infiltrate their databases and uncover their secrets. As you progress through the game, you'll start with easy jobs and work your way up to more challenging contracts. You'll earn money by completing these jobs, which you can use to upgrade your cyberdeck software or stash away in a protected offshore bank account.

The gameplay loop is all about hacking into databases, mining for password fragments, and breaking through the digital barriers of various companies. You'll use warez to penetrate ICE (Intrusion Countermeasure Electronics) systems and dig deeper to uncover valuable information. The real-time progression system means that the more you play, the better your skills will become.
