In Dark Devotion, you take on the role of a Templar, tasked with uncovering the secrets of a mysterious fallen temple. As you delve deeper into the temple, you'll encounter dark enemies and devious bosses who will stop at nothing to destroy your soul and damn you forever. To succeed, you must measure your devotion and bravery by journeying into the depths of darkness, where every encounter challenges your fortitude, piety, and conviction. Spanning four unique worlds, each with its own incredibly detailed environments, you'll wield dozens of weapons in your quest to discover the temple's secrets.

The gameplay loop is centered around exploration, combat, and character customization. You'll explore procedurally generated levels, battling enemies and bosses while collecting items, armors, and relics to enhance your character. Every item has its own attributes and statistics, which can be customized with mystical runes.
